Exhibiting in Bath

I am next exhibiting at the Walcot Chapel Bath, with sculptor Lou Baker disquiet. 18-23rd September 11-5pm with an open event on Saturday 22nd 2-5pm.  All welcome.

disquiet is an exhibition of  paintings and sculptures by Clare Thatcher and Lou Baker, who are showing together for the first time at Walcot Chapel in Bath. Although they use very different materials and processes they recognise similarities in their work and, for this exhibition, they have made some new pieces in response to one another’s work.

Ronnies of Thornbury fine dining restaurant

I am delighted to be the new featured artist at the award winning Ronnies of Thornbury. I successfully hung 13 paintings of various size, format and materials this week. My work covers the main restaurant, bar and upstairs dining area. My work consist of diptychs, oil paintings on burlap, aluminium & plywood also a framed piece on paper.

The richness of the colours on different surfaces have transformed the restaurant into a vibrant atmospheric dining experience.

Please do visit for breakfast, lunch, dinner or just a coffee. You will be looked after very well.

New work

As part of my new liminal space series of waterfalls. I have been working on location, a visit to The Cleddon falls, Trellech,Wye Valley and in my new studio ‘Clash Art space’ in Thornbury, South Glos. Drawing locates me in the place, a way of finding things out, making different drawings of colour and composition. Whilst thinking about paintings I want to make, experiencing a sense of place.

Artmasters 2015

I would like to thank Anna Fairchild for curating Artmasters at The Old Truman Brewery  over the weekend. I showed and met with a group of fantastic MA Fine Art graduates from around the country. It was an invaluable experience. Thank you for all of you who attended and bought my work. I hope you enjoyed the vibrant and eclectic mix of artworks.
